The summer intensive at Kirova Ballet Academy is designed for the serious ballet student (ages 9-20) who wishes to train with the highest caliber coaches. Kirova Ballet Summer Intensive is a wonderful introduction to comprehensive ballet training, classical variations, original choreography, contemporary and jazz dance. The intensive is held in expansive state-of-the-art studios in Hallandale just one mile away from peaceful Hallandale  beach. The rigor of daily training mandated by the Summer Intensive Program yields impressive results. The drive and focus of both the faculty and students in this competitive, audition-only program.

Featured classes

The classes are taught by distinguished faculty from Mariinsky Theater and Vaganova Ballet Academy, St. Pertersburg, Russia; together with the faculty from Kirova Ballet Academy, including Artistic Director Janna Kirova. Classes include classical technique, pointe and variations, modern/contemporary, partnering and character dance..

TWO programs

Kirova Ballet offers an intensive 1 week Mini-Intensive for the Young Dancer; and 3 week Summer Intensive Program for Intermediate/Advanced dancers training program in wonderful and welcoming Hallandale Beach in July.

Classes for the 2022 Summer
Intensive may include:

Ballet Technique, Pointe , Partnering , Variations, Men’s Technique, Men’s Variations, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Progressing Ballet technique, Floor barre, Contemporary on pointe, flexibility classes, Acting for Dancers/Mime, Character, Dance History, Yoga, Meet the Artist, injury prevention.

Curriculum

The curriculum of the 2022 KBA Summer Intensive includes high level technique classes on
subjects critical to the development of a complete dancer. Our philosophy centers on education of a
complete dancer with practice in majority of classical and current dance styles and techniques. Our
dancers are prepared to work with any dance company upon graduation
 .

ILONA FOMENKO

Ilona Fomenko began her studies with a M. N. Grishkevich, a pupil of A. Vaganova in Tbilisi’s Choreographic Academy. She graduated  in V. Chabukiani class (classical faculty)

In 1987 completed an internship at  A.Vaganova Ballet Academy in St.Petersburg, Russia (N.Fedorova – a pupil  of A.Vaganova)

Former ballet dancer with Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Paliashvili.

Currently Working as a stage dance teacher at GITIS, Moscow at the stage dance department, workshops: S. Golomazov, E. Kamenkovich-Krymov, A. Titel, O. Menshikov workshop, L. Kheifits workshop.

Anastasiya Arkin 

A graduate of Vitebsk Stae university.

Anastasiya taught and coached over 1000 dance students, with over 100 winning national and international dance competitions in Belarus, Poland, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Macedonia, and Czech Republic.

Knowledge of various dance techniques, including ballet, contemporary & modern dance, improvisation & contact improvisation, partnering, dance theatre, yoga, somatic.

Experienced in developing the strength and flexibility of dancer bodies, including increasing coordination and motor memory development, improving health according to the individual characteristics of a person with the help of yoga, breathing, relaxing, movement and massage exercises.
